The Giant's Head

It was a bounty as infamous as the creature itself. A kingdom's fortune for whoever could slay the giant, whose seasonal hunger terrorized three territories and their merchants, farmers, and tradesmen. Despite the challenge, a troupe of skilled and out-of-work mercenaries were able to fell the beast, returning to the capitol to claim the prize.

However, despite the horror and violence of the required battle to fell the beast, it was nothing compared to the mess about to befall the city due to said bounty being unpaid.
